While other nations struggle to increase their crude production, and while some throttle back exports to drive the price of oil higher, the United States will be the largest oil producer of 2019. Booming shale production helped the United States briefly overtake Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the world's top oil exporter for the first time earlier this year. The United States became the world's biggest oil producer in 2018, and over the next five years, the nation will take aim at becoming the top oil exporter, according to the International Energy –The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimated in their latest Short-Term Energy Outlook that the United States is now the largest global crude oil producer, likely surpassing Russia and Saudi Arabia. In February, U.S. crude oil production exceeded that of Saudi Arabia for the first time in more than two decades. China stood as the largest petroleum crude oil importer country across the world with the import value of USD 116,171,247 thousand during the year 2016. It is importing petroleum crude oil from around 45 countries and Russian Federation & Saudi Arabia are its main crude petroleum oil exporter country.
In second place were European nations at 27.6% while 15% of worldwide crude oil imports were delivered to North America. Smaller percentages went to Latin America (1.8%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, Africa (1.2%) then Oceania (1.1%) led by Australia and New Zealand.
